Goal Getter: Josh Loveday

With the class of 2021 graduating this month we thought this would be a great opportunity to interview Josh Loveday!

Josh is one of three valedictorians graduating from McMinn Central High School! Loveday has signed to play golf with Tennessee Wesleyan starting Fall 2021.

Josh has shown great determination all four years of his high school experience. Here at OneLife we even got the privilege of working with Josh in our Impact program! Josh is one of our very dear friends and we are so proud of him! Now let's dive into the interview and bask in the wisdom that is: Josh Loveday.

Who is someone that inspires you to accomplish your goals?

My parents inspire me to always give 100% effort in all things I do.

How did you achieve such good grades while being a student athlete?

It takes a lot of hard work and discipline to keep your grades up while also being an athlete. I kept my focus from 8-3 on school days strictly on my school work, and after school I focused on golf.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy golfing and fishing with my bros. I also enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family.

What is your most favorite thing you have accomplished?

My biggest accomplishment is earning a college golf scholarship because I started playing only 4 years ago.

How do you think your highschool experience has prepared you for the future?

High school has taught me that there are always going to be challenges and obstacles in your path, but once you overcome them the journey is so much sweeter.

What are some of your goals for the future?

I want to graduate college with honors, become an all-american golfer, and have a happy life with a spouse and kids.

What steps are you taking now, to accomplish those goals in the future?

I’m doing the best I can to get most of college paid for through golf and academics. If I am able to do that then I can begin to focus on life after school.

What is one piece of advice you would give someone going into their freshman year of highschool?

Work smarter, not harder. A 93 is the same thing as a 103.

After reading that I'm sure "Josh Loveday" is a name you will never FORE get. See what I did there ;). Josh is a great example to upcoming freshmen on how to have a successful academic career while still enjoying yourself and hanging out with your friends! We are so proud of you Josh and we know you have a tee-rific future ahead of you! Ok we'll be done with the golf puns.
